I’m Abdelkabir El Bouazaoui, and See-Morocco started in 2022 out of something simple: a real passion for this country and for showing it to people the way I actually know it — not the way it gets flattened into generic listicles online.

Why I Started This Site

I’m originally from Ouarzazate, the gateway to Morocco’s Sahara and the foot of the Atlas Mountains, and I studied in Marrakech through middle and high school. Between growing up in the south and spending my formative years in one of Morocco’s most visited cities, I’ve had a front-row seat to both sides of what draws people here — the imperial cities and the quieter desert towns most guides skip entirely.

When I started looking at other Morocco travel sites, I noticed most of them repeated the same generic advice, the same recycled lists, sometimes with details that were just wrong — closed sites listed as open, ruins described as “well-preserved,” day trips that don’t actually work logistically. I wanted to build something different: a site written by someone who’s actually been to these places, eaten the food, negotiated the prices, and can tell you honestly when somewhere isn’t worth the detour.

Every article is grounded in either my own visits or honest, clearly-labeled research when I haven’t been somewhere myself. I’d rather tell you “I haven’t seen this in person, but here’s what I know about the area” than fake a story that isn’t true.
